Kuchanga Travel connects individuals and organizations to a wonderful range of volunteer opportunities and adventure in Uganda, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa. 

You can go solo, we'll set you up on the ground and give you someone you can contact at any time. You can join another group with our partner organizations in any of the countries we travel to or you can join our core group trips and we'll lead you and your group as soon as you land in-country until you're ready to fly home.

Our trips focus on volunteering, eco-adventure, wildlife and cultural safaris – in a fun, rewarding combination that we shape according to your interests and in partnership with schools, faith-based initiatives, business ventures, locally operated tour companies and carefully-vetted NGO’s.

What you can do for others

Kuchanga Travel connects you with people and communities working to improve their lives. In the span of a week or two on the ground, applying your knowledge and skills can make a real difference. Teach, train, mentor, plan, build – and create lasting relationships.  

You can fund a business start with a micro-loan and help a local entrepreneur build the skills necessary to succeed.

Help build a latrine for Bupala Primary School in Uganda

Kuchanga Travel is working with Radnor Middle School to help raise $4500  to help build a latrine for Bubala Primary School in the Iganga district of Uganda. Teacher Jodi Sabra and her 6th grade students are raising money for their pen pals in Uganda. Kuchanga Travel will be taking volunteers to help with the construction, meet the kids and have a great adventure in Uganda. All are welcome!

Cloud-based library

Kuchanga Travel is organizing participants and philanthropic support for a special project to develop a new learning center and community library in the Ugandan village of Nabagoye.

The project will connect the village to regional, national and international resources as never before, and greatly enhance the education of Jewish, Christian and Muslim children who study together in the village's school.
